explorer crashes every startup

It seems that windows explorer has recently begun to crash every single time
I restart the machine. I power up in the morning, and before I do anything,
windows explorer crashes. I wait a second or two while explorer restarts
itself, and then continue working normally for the rest of the day.

The event viewer says the following:

I get exactly the same issue, i posted this on the microsoft.com
windowsxp expert users forum but also recieved no response. I know
thats no help but if you find any useful information please let me
know!
