Explorer crash

Hello Everyone,

The following is an error I'm getting with one of my desktop computers
(Dell GX270):

Application Error
Event ID: 1000
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module
comctl32.dll, version 6.0.2800.1515, fault address 0x00055859.

This error occurs when they are working just basic functions of Office
XP. I've reinstalled Office XP thinking it was the culprit, however there
are other applications that cause the above error. As of this post, I have
this computer completely swapped out with new hardware and I have not yet
heard if the problem resurfaced. I've sent off the crash report to
Microsoft but haven't heard anything back (probably won't either). Let me
know if this is in fact a hardware failure related Event or things I can try
to resolve this issue.

Thank you
Alex Anderson

I basically swapped out all hardware and the problem returned. The computer
has the same image as other people but with a few different programs. It
has the latest service packs for Windows XP installed. As well does the
Office XP has the latest service packs. Help on this would highly
appreciated.

Thank you
Alex Anderson
