Explorer : Can only open 1 window using a hot key

Steve

Hi;

I'm on a win2k box at work.

I defined a hot key to bring up the file explorer ( ctrl + alt + x ).

It works.

However, when I use the hot key I can only bring up 1 copy/window of
explorer.

Is there anything I can adjust so if I hit the hot key multiple times I
can get multiple windows of explorer?

Thanks in advance

Steve

So I can look at two different directories at the same time.

Do you have a solution?

Why would you want or believe you need multiple copies of Explorer running?
---------------------

...Because if can be very useful if you are working with multiple
directories (ie. move/copy operations)

Steve:
----------
- Have you tried changing the hotkey? Odd things can happen when a hotkey
is assigned to more than one shortcut
- Are you using a "complex" keyboard (Like one by Microsoft or Logitech
that contains additional drivers)? Try with a different keyboard, or
updated drivers.

I have just done this on my 2K machine, and was able to open up numerous
copies of Windows Explorer (even by holding down ctrl-alt and pressing "X"
multiple times)

Personally I open the just the directories themselves thru My Computer
rather than "Explorer".

Steve,

FYI, if your keyboard has a "Windows logo" key, you can also press "Windows logo" + "E" to bring up Windows Explorer.

Scott

It does, thanks for the cool tip!!

Good suggestion!

That did the trick.

Thanks
