I have recently uninstalled all my AOL software as I changed provider. Now when I open Internet Explorer I get the message "cannot find:///program%20files/aol%20toolbar/welcome.html" If I click OK it appears again but after a further OK, Explorer opens. How do I stop these error messages appearing?

Damn I used to be quite handy on AOL used to know loads of stuff and how to disable certain things. It is possible to disable the AOL toolbar and uninstall it i'm sure or rather there was years ago.

If you disable it that should stop giving you the error.

Sorry I cant help more maybe someone here uses AOL and will know the tricks available. In the mean time included links may come in handy

Thanks to all but nothing suggested works. IE is still looking for the AOL toolbar. I will keep trying.

One option is to re-install it. As long as you have your own provider you can sign up for free AOL and keep your old addy. I did that and still sometimes use AOL software, but mostly access my AOL mail through the web using both IE and Firefox.
