explorer address bar

when i type in www.v in the address bar, an address shows
up underneath that would link me to a site i dont want to
go to. i cant seem to delete this site by clearing history.

Set the number of days to keep History to 0 (zero)

You have corruption in your History folder or it's index.dat file.

Delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be created on restart.

History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.
