Exchange Settings Container

I recently added 2 new domain controllers and demoted 2 domain controllers.
In Active Directory Sites and Services, the old DC that had the RID, PDC,
Infrastructure master, and domain naming master roles has a container called
Exchange Settings under it. The Exchange Settings container does not have
any objects in it.

Does anyone know what this container is used for?
Is it safe to delete the container?

This is used for the E2K Active Directory Container for
synching AD with the Exchange 5.5 directory
