Schema Not Replicating

Ok. Here Goes. Our PDC Emulator/Schema Master/RID
Master/Domain Naming Master/Infrastructure Master/First DC
of the Forest died on us. No backups were done, so a
restore was not possible. Basically, it's similar to
having the server stolen.

After installing a replacement drive + reinstalling the OS
w/SP's etc., I then joined the domain. After joining the
domain, I used the NTDS Utility to remove all data
referencing the old server (I did not rename it the same
either) After that was successful, I then ran DCPROMO.
After the DC upgrade, I then seized the necessary roles
(Schema Master, RID, Infrastructure, etc) which I
confirmed beforehand was not being held by the other DC.
The problem that I am having is that on the new domain
controller, you do not see the exchange features from when
the installation of Exchange extended the schema. I then
changed the Schema master back to the other DC, which I
can see the Exchange features and forced replication. This
did not work. I then tried running /domainprep off the
Exchange CD with no luck either. How do I get the new DC
to show the Exchange features like the old DC?

Do you mean the exchange parts of a user properties in dsa.msc? Providing
you've allowed for a full replication cycle (the initial sync. performed
during promotion doesn't replicate all objects) have you enabled advanced
view in DSA?

The problem is that the Exchange extensions of users and computers only exists
on machines that you install the exchange toolset on. You do not need this on
your DC because you shouldn't be managing users by logging onto DCs, you should
be doing this remotely from workstations. Anyway, all you have to do is take the
Exchange CD and load the Exchange Tools on the new DC if you want that
functionality.
