I've been using Outlook 2003 for ages, with several conventional POP3
accounts on a broadband connection.
Recently acquired a Blackberry, provided by a company which has its own
server, from which email is sent to the Blackberry; I have linked this
to my Outlook setup in order to synchronise my email/contacts/calendar
between the Blackberry, PC, and Outlook Web Access provided by the 3rd
party company.
They tell you to set up a new Outlook profile especially for the
Blackberry, but that is a pain in the butt to administer, so I've done
my own thing and set up a new Exchange email account within my regular
Outlook profile; the idea being to continuously download emails and
synchronise Calendars/Contacts with the server.
However, although emails are arriving, the Calendar and Contacts are
failing to synchronise (no info at all as been uploaded to the server
yet). And I notice that the Outlook icon in the system tray now has a
red cross against it, with a rollover label stating "Outlook is
offline". Never ever saw that before I added the Exchange account to my
set up.
Any ideas how to get this working? (Difficult to approach the company
concerned for help, as I'm deliberately going against their policy in my
setup)
Thanks
