Exchange 2003 will not send/receive mail

I've migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. I've completed all of the
Deployment Tools Wizards with no problems (Except Internet Mail Wizard). I
ran the Internet Mail Wizard and receive an error "...selected server cannot
be a bridgehead server" ID no: c103b530. What do I need to do to completely
remove the 5.5 Server? Currently, if I shut it down I can not send or
receive e-mail.
