Hi ther

It would be really helpful if you could give us some more information

Does this happen in all your worksheets or just some? Is there any kind of pattern? (E.g. happens most in big worksheets, ones containing graphs, happens when printing/opening/exiting/saving.

Something you could do is try running Excel in Safe mode - see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];159474 for info on how to do this. (You'll need the /s switch - info on how to use it is at the top of the article.) Let us know if that makes any difference as it will give us a big clue as to where the problem could be

Hi Julia

Thank you for your help so far, I have tried running
excel in safe mode without any success.

There does not seem to be any pattern as to when it
crashes. For instance, I could start excel and work on a
large worksheet and it would run, then if I open a small
Worksheet it would crash. If I reboot the computer and
start the small worksheet it would run. All my excel
files are accounts files without any graphics and stored
on servers.

Furthermore, when it crashes it appears in the task
manager twice, as file.xls not responding.

Do you think I am running out of RAM?
Is it enough to run intensive excel application on a XP
(PRO) Machine with 256DDR RAM?

My last effort didn't bring any joy either, when I
uninstalled entire office 97 and reinstalled with office
2003 it still crashes intermitently just as before.

I have all the latest patches on my PC.

Please help!!

Regards

Moses
