Excel - Undo,,,Why does it go away.

Excel should have 100 Undo's. But sometimes it's 5 and others it's 20???

Why does this happen? It's been happening for years. I never got a straight
answer...

Hi Frank,

You can undo and redo up to 100 actions in Microsoft Office 2007 programs, and you can repeat actions as many times as you want.
With older versions, the limits might have been different for different programs. From memory, Excel uses a single undo buffer for
all open workbooks while Word has a separate undo buffer for each document.

Obviously, some actions, such as saving or printing a file can't be undone. Whether to use a single undo buffer or to clear it at
certain times comes down to a design choice, and that might be influenced by the complexity of the program and/or the implications
of trying to go back to an earlier state.
