Excel to Outlook

Through the years I created in Excel a contacts database with titles..e.g
last name etc) the time has come to transfer it to Outlook, some fields are
different, is there a way to import them.?

When importing from Excel into Contacts folder in Outlook.

For some assistance.......................

Browse through this google search result for one method of importing the Excel
contacts to Outlook using a *.csv file saved from your Excel workbook.

Alternate method................

In addition, if you give your data table in Excel a name through Insert>Name
Define you can import directly from the Excel workbook and bypass the *.csv
method.

The truth
I tried that already unsuccesfully
If it is possible I must have been doing something wrong
So I will revisit carefully.
