Are you sure they are templates, and not just files renamed to an xlt
filetype? Try doing a save as, specify template and save to another name
and see if they work.

Well, this issue is actually happening to a friend of mine. I had copied this
file to my computer, but when I double clicked the file, I would be able to
open the xlt filetype and it would open up as xls. When I right clicked the
file and select open, it opens up as xlt. I had my friend do the same things
I did, but it opens up as xlt both ways.
I just experienced this same thing today. can you tell me what the result of
