I am receiving an error when printing to HP laserjets 8100, 8150's
from Excel 2002

the error message I receive is below

"Your file could not be printed due to an error on ( printername )
There may not be enough memory available, try closing files and
programs you arent using.
If you use a network for printing, there may be a problem with the
network connection or the printer driver.
there may be loose cables or a bad connection between your computer
and printer"

I have updated the printer drivers to the latest version but I am
still receiving the error.

If I remove and reinstall the network printer the job will print but
this error re occurs in a day or so

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Lee

Just guesses, but some printers use the pc's memory to process the print
request.

Maybe you could look at increasing your pc's memory (or if your printer doesn't
do this, the printer's memory). (Or just close every other application that's
running.)

One thing you may want to try is printing to a file on your pc. Then you could
copy that file to the printer with excel closed (maybe excel is a big enough
eater of memory that impacts everything else you're doing.)

But man, oh, man. None of this explains why removing and reinstalling the
printer driver makes everything work ok.
