Excel Menu Textboxes

When i put my mouse over a button a text box used to
appear saying what the button did. This seems to have
stopped working?

Any ideas how i could get it back?
 
Choose Tools>Customize

Go to the customize menu, select the options tab and check the box t
the left of "Show screen tips on toolbars
