Excel gives Dr. Watson error

Mary Eckmeier

I've been looking at this section all day as other people
seem to be experiencing the same problem I have... So
here's my 2 cents in case someone out there knows what
might be going on.

- I have Office 2000 installed on a laptop computer with
Office NT 4.0 SPK4. I use the computer infrequently, but
today when I went to start Excel, I received Dr. Watson
errors. Same with Word but no error for Access or PPT.

I've been working with the Office XP Web Components inside
of Front Page 2002 - but I've worked with them and the
Office 2000 applications without problem before on this
machine.

If you have any ideas - that would be great. I did read
the message posted here from Jan Karel Pieterse with many
steps to try and did them all but none seems to fix the
problem.

Thanks

Mary

Sounds like a serious problem then <smile>.
Have you tried completely removing Office (There should be a tool for
that as listed in this article:

Then do a fresh installation.
