Excel shared file Dr Watson

One of our users when trying to open a shared workbook gets the Dr Watson
error.
He can open other shared Excel files and other users can open the file he
can not.
It seems to only be the one particular file.
Id be grateful for any ideas.

Hi Andylex0,
One of our users when trying to open a shared workbook gets the Dr Watson
error.
He can open other shared Excel files and other users can open the file he
can not.
It seems to only be the one particular file.

Might be a networking issue or a folder rights issue.
Another thing could be that the path and filename are too long (more than
254 characters). Windows and Excel cannot handle that.

I'd strongly advise you to tell your users to stop using shared workbooks.
Excel is very unreliable when multiple users edit the same file. You're
risking loss of data and file corruptions. DON'T SHARE WORKBOOKS.

Thanks for that Jan. Unfortunately we've been telling them that for a long
time. However it may help now someone else has said this.

Thanks
Andy
