I have an excel file (18 MB, over 80 tabs) which takes more than 15 minutes to open. Excel will hang until the file is open and the excel.exe process will use all available cpu resources (up to 99%) for the entire time it takes to open the file. The file is plain excel spreadsheet. No macros, no links. The only thing we apply to the template is a bunch of grouping on each tab. Not sure if this is the reason for the slow-open.
Any help will be highly appreciated!
I tried to open the file on another machine, the first time it took about 4 min to open. But when I close it and try to open it again, it took about 15 min again.
