Hello.
I have WinXP SP2 and Office 2003 installed. The problem i'm facing is that
when i close Excel, the process EXCEL.EXE continues on task manager and using
99% of CPU. The Memory Usage decreases very slowly and while the process is
still active the computer becomes very slow. Usually i end the task manually.
Does anyone have a hint on why this happens?

This problem can occur when you edit but do not save the workbook, before
attempting to log off.

Are you by chance running any scripts? Or some .net stuff?

Sometimes i use Excel VBA scripts, but the problem occurs even if i open
Excel and close it without doing nothing.
