excel.exe has generated errors and will be closed

I keep receiving excel.exe errors when trying to start
using Microsoft Office 2000 Excel. I can log on with no
problems for my user profile, but when I try to open Excel
from Start - Programs - Excel. I get these errors.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing Microsoft
Office 2000, with no luck. I am wondering if this is a
User Profile related problem. When someone else logs on to
my computer, they can access Excel with no errors or
problems.
Thanks.

Or delete your excel.xlb file. It's the file that retains
your custom toolbars. It will create another one when you
start Excel and you will have to readjust your toolbars
but that solved my problem which sounds almost exactly the
same as yours.
