Excel crashes when copying worksheet to new workbook

I have a worksheet in a workbook that has several charts in it. When I
right click on the tab at the bottom and click on Move/Copy and try to copy
the entire worksheet to another workbook, Excel crashes with an exception
error.

I am running Excel 2000 with service pack 3 installed. I tried running the
Office repair tool but this didn't fix it. I am betting it is a problem
with one of the charts in the worksheet. Some of the charts point to data
located in another workbook on our network. Does anyone have any ideas on
what to check? I don't know what else to try.

I've seen this once. I could Move the worksheet, but Copying crashed excel.

Maybe you could Move the worksheet, then come back and close the original
without saving.

I ended up recreating that worksheet and it's been ok since. (I could move/copy
with no problems.)

You're right...I am able to move the worksheet to a new workbook and then
just not save the changes and it doesn't crash.

One thing I found is that the problem doesn't occur using Excel 2002. We
are planning to upgrade all Office 2000 installations to Office 2003 when it
is released so maybe moving the worksheet will be a good temporary
workaround until we get upgraded.

Thanks for the help.
