Excel 2007 - unable to open saved files

I've installed the Beta 2 Technical Refresh but now cannot open ANY Excel
file, be it 2007 or 2003 version as the following error message comes up:-

This file cannot be opened because your virus scanner has detected a problem
with the file.

The files scan fine with the virus scanner and worked fine yesterday before
I installed the update today - any thoughts.

Thanks for the help

Simon,

I'm experiencing the same problem today. I have Xp installed with Norton
AV. I am unable to open any excel files (2007 or 20003)

Experianced the same issue even after downloading the lastest updates using
Symantec Live Update. Disabling the AV plug in allows files to open in Excel
2007 Beta TR. Not really a fix to the problem just a work around. I assume
that this is a Norton fix that is not available yet. If anyone else has
additional infor on this, please post it here.

Thanks

Thanks. Since the link to the reference for disabling NAV Office Plugin in
not functioning (at this time), I offer a rough sketch of how to turn off the
Plugin (which may be slightly different depending on your NAV version):

->Open NAV ->Option ->NAV Options ->Other ->Miscellaneous

This should bring to a check box labeled "Turn Office Plug-in On" (second
box, on my version).

Thanks for your help. Good luck.
