Excel 2007 problem

Steve Grosz

We recently upgraded several computers from Office 2003 to 2007. After
going throug the 'upgrade' process suggested by the Office 2007 install
program, some users are having some odd issues:

1) When a user clicks on a Excel 2003 file, it doesn't open right away in
the window. The user has to minimize the window, and then expand it again,
and the file is dislayed

2) Slow performance when typing in Word, the characters/words show up
several seconds after the user types it and has moved on to the next word.

How can we resolve these issues? Has anyone else experienced them?

Thanks!

Ask in a Word group about Word. The double click issue is very common and
there does not seem to be a generic answer for it. SP1 did not fix it
apparently.

I am experiencing the same issue with some clients at one of my
customer sites. 40+ computers went from Office 2003 to Office 2007 and
a few of the users complain that when opening a file in Excel, it
doesn't show up. Come to find that if you click on the Office button
or open a menu and then close it, the file attempting to be opened
then shows up. The strange thing is that I did a "Run all from My
Computer" and a Repair and neither fixed it. They are not running any
Add-Ins. One of the users notified me the problems mysteriously
"fixed" itself and some others are only randomly experiencing this.

Any ideas? I would hate to burn an MS case on this.

Lots of people have complained that when they doubleclick on a file in windows
explorer, that the workbook doesn't seem to show up in xl2007.

Maybe a future patch/upgrade will address the problem.
