excel 2007: cannot successfully change the "trust center settings"

Hi, when I open an excel file, i got some popups saying that "cannot open
http://...." I keep clicking "ok", and finally a window is up "this workbook
contains one or more links that cannot not be updated....".
So I want to disable this kind of automatic update, I went to "trust center
settings", and changed the it into the following:
"Prompt user about Data Connections"
"Prompt user on automatic update for Workbook Links"

Then I open the same file again, same problem happened. Then I changed the
"trust center settings" into the following:
"Disable all Data Connections"
"Disable automatic update of Workbook Links"

Then I open the same file again, still same problem. My colleague can open
the file and there is no alert message for him, there is one message bar:
"Security Warning Data connections have been disabled. options...."

So why I can not change the way into my colleague's? I tried to repair
office 2007, and remove excel first, then add it back in, no results.

This is frustrating. Sometimes I got more than 20 messages....

Are you connected to the resource that is trying to download the data via
http? Looks like you are either not authenticated if it is an intranet or
you are not connected to the internet if it is external

Hi, Nick, it is link to our intranet. But I dont think this is the problem.
My colleague is not having this problem.
I think the problem is that the changes I made to my "trust center settings"
are not valid even though it looks I did the change. (it is checked on the
correct setting I wanted, my colleague's is same).
I should say, this is really weird.
