Excel 2007 auto format pivot table

I am making the switch from Excel 2003 to 2007. There is one feature that I
cannot seem to find in the 2007 version.

When I create a pivot table in 2003, I then have a "format report" button on
the pivot table toolbar. When I click that button, an "auto format" dialog
box opens with pre-formatted selections. (Report 6 happens to be my
favorite.)

I cannot seem to find this option in 2007. Even though I did find a format
section, there do not seem to be any pre-formatted selections that
correspond to the 2003 options.

Anyone know what I'm talking about???

Hi
Click on any cell within the PT, click on the Design tab and then use the
dropdown at the far right to see 24 different Styles of Light, Medium and
Heavy.
As you hover over each Style, your PT shows up with that style.
When you see one that you like, double click that Style to apply.

If you don't like any of those, you can "roll your own" by clicking on the
New design icon at the bottom of the dialogue.

Yes, I saw the options on the design tab, but they are not really
reformatting the raw pivot table. It seems these light, medium, and heavy
styles don't actually format the report at all. Are you familiar with the
automatic formats available in 2003? That's what I'm looking for.

Hi

Yes, I am familiar with the XL2003 formats.
The same simple feature is not available.
But, on the Design Tab you can select from
Layout
whether you want Subtotals and/or Grand Totals,
whether you want the Report in Compact, Outline or Tabular format and
whether or not you want blank rows after each item.

Pivot Style Options
whether you want
Row Headers
Column Headers
Banded Rows
Banded Columns

and then choose any one of 72 or more Styles to apply to that result.

No, you don't get a few standard formats, but from those options you can
easily create any layout to match (or improve upon) the XL2003 layouts.

Thank you for the info. I'll start playing around with these options and
see if I can duplicate the old "report 6" look. <grin> Will I be able to
save my design once I get it all figured out? I guess I'll know shortly.
