HI
I have to generate pivot tables and only extarct the top 20 or 40 values.
Excel 2003 has an option that could display the top values that I need - only.
i.e. ' Pivot Table Options >>Advanced settings >> "Top 10 AutoShow" '

Where do I find that function in Excel 2007 ??

Right click a category (a row or column heading, in other words) >
Filter > Top 10.
This then gives a dialogue where you can change 10 to some other value,
filter top items, or percentage band etc.

Only tricky part is making sure you are filtering the right category eg
do you want the top 10 products by sales value? Or the top salespeople?
or the top months?

Hope this helps
