Excel 2003 Tiling

My Excel 2003 responds appropriately to "Tile" commands generated by
selecting "Window" on the standard menu bar, then selecting "Arrange" from
the menu list, followed by selecting one of the "Tile" commands and then
clicking "OK."

However, my Excel 2003 does not respond to "Tile" commands generated by the
more convenient procedure of simply right-clicking the Task Bar followed by
clicking one of the "Tile" commands.

Will deeply appreciate solution(s) to and/or explanation(s) of this
discrepancy.

The tile command within Excel relates specifically to Excel, however the
"Tile" commands you see from the Task Bar are not application specific. They
relate to any applications you currently have open.

For example: if you open Excel and Outlook at the same time, then select
"Tile Vertically" from the Task Bar, you will see open windows for them side
by side.

Hope this helps

Thanks lilo. Please forgive the tardiness of my response. I’m new to the
discussion group, neglected to click the “Notify me of replies†box, and
didn’t check in for a few days.

I concur with your explanation regarding Excel 2003, but I still have an
issue with this application:

While my Excel 2003 application fails to tile or cascade multiple open
spreadsheet files from the Task Bar “Tile†and “Cascade†commands, my Word
2003 application performs these same Task Bar functions perfectly well with
multiple open document files.

Any insights into the difference in operation between these two Microsoft
Office applications?

Thanks
