I am having trouble setting up my pivot tables in Excel 2003. I have a
single SQL Table. I can either import the data into Excel, or import as
olap cube. If I import as a cube I can setup my date to group by Year,
Month, Day. But when I try to reuse the cube I create I get an error
stating that client security does not allow pass through statements. I have
not found a resolution for this (data source uses windows authentication.)
So instead I import the data to excel and then do a pivot table from the
data. I add the date field to the rows, then right click and choose group -
I get a message - can't group that selection. I get this message if I click
on a date item or the date field heading.
What am I doing wrong?
