Excel 2002. When user double clicks a file Excel opens with erro

The error states that the file could not be found. Clicking ok brings up
another error referanceing another file name altogether. CLicking ok again
brings up another file name that has nothing to do with the others. Clicking
ok again finally brings up the desired file. Help!!!

I suspect the file name are parts of the same file name if it has spaces,
e.g a file name of

c:\nick hodge test.xls

would show cannot find nick.xls first then hodge.xls second, etc.

You should be able to fix this by going to Tools>Options...>General and
ensuring ignore other applications is un-checked
