Excel 2000 Crashing

I have workbooks which keep crashing stating that excel has generated an
error and will close and that an error log has been generated. Looking at Dr
Watson the following error message appears;

- The application, , generated an application error The error occurred on
02/24/2006 @ 11:06:58.693 The exception generated was c0000005 at address
00000001 (<nosymbols>)

This error occurs at random times and often prevents the workbook from being
opened. I have lost a lot of time and work due to this problem.

I tried entering all the data manually into a new spreadsheet and producing
my charts again but this problem still occurred and occurs whichever PC I
work on.

The most complex functions that the workbook contains is charts linked to
Vlookups tables, which are all contained in the same workbook.

Can anyone help with this problem?

Turn off Error-Reporting for Excel Application

Control Panel, System Settings ...somewhere in there

Do not turn off Auto Recover from Options in Excel, unless you really want
to lose all your data if a real crash occurs...
