Hello All,

I am trying to write my dissertation with Word instead of Latex and I'm up
against a wall; two of them actually.

I have created tables in Excel which I am trying to import into Word. I COPY
the table from Excel and then I try to PASTE SPECIAL into Word.

1) I copy into Excel as a BITMAP and all appears well except there is a gray
line on the left side of the table that is not in the Excel spreadsheet. How
do I get this gray line to go away?

2) I have also tried to copy as a PICTURE. The good news is that the gray
line goes away. The bad news is that I can only see the left hand side of
the table.

Bottom line, all I'm trying to do is import a large Excel table into Word
and be able to see the whole thing w/o any extraneous lines or other
formatting.

Help...........

On the Excel side, hold Shift and use Edit > Copy as Picture. The selected
range gets copied as a graphic element that can be pasted into Word with the
standard Paste (Ctrl+V) command. It will fit itself in the margins and look
just like it did in Excel, only scaled to the new size. The downside is you
can't edit it - you have to go back into Excel to make any changes, then
Copy as Picture and paste again.
