EWF on VIA EPIA ML

I am testing XP embedded SP1 (trial) on a vIA EPIA ML board with a 500 MB
flash disk. I have a 350 MB partition for XP embedded. I start with EWF
(RAM) disabled and everything is OK. I can see the small partition created
during FBA. Then, I enable EWF and reboot. After that, I can only run afew
minnutes before either a blue screen or an automatic reboot. It seems to be
related to the amount of writing to RAM. I noticed that 32 MB of RAM is
shared with the video board. I have 256 MB RAM total.

When I disable EWF, everything comes back to normal.

Any idea?

Pierre,

How big is your image? Doesn't do lots of writing to the disk (that gets redirected to RAM)? You can find this out if you run
Diskmon tool (www.sysinternals.com).

If you think this is related to RAM consumed by EWF you may want to minimize system writes to disk. Here you'll a few tips how to do
that:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/community/community/tips/xp/ramewf/default.aspx

Another thing to mentioned that EWF on SP2 is more stable. EWF on FP2007 is probably even better.

Btw, what's the BSOD you saw?
