EWF on CF and IDE

Hi all,

Further to the question I asked earlier, i've actually started the
project now and hit a wall.

I have a 2GB image on a intermediary HDD running an EWF RAM REG overlay
on the C: partition which will eventually be put onto a CF card.

However, we have a separate SATA HDD as the D: partition which will be
there permanently.

I want to cover the separate SATA HDD with the EWF RAM REG overlay but
can't seem to get it to work.

I've tried various different combinations of the registry settings to
get the d: partition covered with the EWF but I always get the "Failed
getting protected volume configuration with error 1. Incorrect
Function"

Is there a way I can do this or is it completely impossible to have an
EWF overlay on one piece of hardware and cover the second piece of
hardware with it?

Hi,

Thanks for the advice.
The only problem is i've already tried every combination of the
different registry values listed in that link to try and get it to work
and it doesn't seem to want to accept it.
I'll keep trying!!!!

Thanks again,
Lucy.

Lucy,

Probably still something your either missed or set up wrong way in the registry.

One thing for sure - it worked for me just fine on SP2 - was able to protect multiply volumes there with EWF RAM Reg.

Feel free to give us more details about the things you've already done there. Maybe together we'll be able to find the missing
peices.

Hi again,

I've now upgraded to FP2007 and am going to try again with this.
However, its going to take awhile as the hardware has been taken away
for approval.

Thanks for all your help so far and I'll keep you posted.

Lucy.
