EWF Configuration again

Hi

I am Using EWF RAM Reg Mode

In the Enhanced Write Filter Component the "Start EWF Enabled" setting is
not working.

When I add the following key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters\Protected\Volume0]" "Enabled"=dword:00000001
The EWF starts Enabled.
and
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters\Protected\Volume0]" "Enabled"=dword:00000000
the EWF starts disabled.

Irrespective of the setting in the configuration when the above key is not
added the ewf starts enabled, and only way to make the ewf to start disable
is to set the key "Enabled"=dword:00000000.

So the DHTML Configuration is not working.

Is this the normal behaviour???

Srivathsan,

The Start EWF Enabled" setting is not related to the reg.value you mentioned. In fact, it should be cleared if you want to use EWF
in RAM Reg mode.

The "Enabled", however, must be added by you manually. The value, unfortunately, seems to be missed from the SP2 documentation.

This article has some serious flaws. Missing reg entries and some steps are completely unnecessary.
If you have disabled FBA config step as described in doc then values put by DHTML won't be treated at all since they change values
related to config step that are used during the FBA.

So the DHTML Configuration is not working.

Like I said configuration is working but EWF driver does not care about FBA config setup values.
Your observation is correct.

Doc bug is reported by me some time ago and it should be fixed in next doc revision.
