EWF and pagefile

Hi, experts

I remembered a couple of months ago, someone discussed questions about EWF
and pagefile and how they live together. But I cannot find the thread again.
So, what is the conclusion finally?

Another question, if I use EWF reg mode on compact flash, can I use pagefile
on it? If so, how?

The conclusion is simple - do not use pagefile on the EWF protected partitions.

Here is another question. If I use EWF reg mode on compact flash, how to
clone the image to another CF card while keeping EWF enabled? Simply by
copying?

Since you are going to use EWF RAM Reg mode it shouldn't be a problem to clone the image as there is no EWF config partition
created.

Just make sure that fbreseal changes are persistent. In other words, either commit the changes with EWF -commit or have the EWF
disabled while running fbreseal and enable it right after the reseal (before reboot).

I'm currently using RamDisk/RBS but I need to change to CF/EWF which I
currently know nothing about. I also need to do performance monitoring. Are
you saying that CF/EWF and performance monitoring are incompatible because of
the pagefile requirement for performance monitoring?

Pef Mon do not work without pagefile.
OS with page file on EWF protected partition do not work safely.
You can have pagefile on second EWF unprotected partition on CF,
unfortunately this could damage your CF because of writes and you will have
to use it on your own risk.

So based on this take your conclusion.

Slobodan, I am running Perfmon without a pagefile, and have not noticed
any ill effects... What kinds of failures should I be looking for? Are
the Performance counters not accurate??
