burner and i restarted and every thing worked fine, then 3 days later i was
burning a disk and all of a sudden the disk ejected and the computer
restarted then when it satrted to boot up it say's searching for boot record
from ide-0 ok then under that it says a disk read error occured press ctrl
alt delete to restart i do that and it says the same thing!! i looked in a
forum and it said to try to go to recovery or safe mode by pressing f8 but
when i do that it just says select first boot device ide-0 , floppy, cd-rom!!
i cant even get back into my windows xp , can somebody please help???? maybe
i put the new burner in wrong or something, but it worked fine for 4 days
after i installed it!!!!!

Your BIOS has been changed to boot from the CD drive ("D"). You'll
need to change it back to the "C" drive in the BIOS.

....and the jumper settings for the DVD drive might need to
be reset as "Slave", if the first drive on this IDE chain
is the hard drive being used to boot the computer, i.e., the
"master".

c drive??ALSO i have windows xp corporate! it is sopposed to be for big
