every email has a 'ghost' attachment?

I've noticed that lately live mail is showing every email that includes a
picture/link/html as having an attachment - despite this there is no
evidence of an attachment when i open the email & no opportunity to save
'the attachment' - so i can only describe it as a ghost attachment

This is obviously useless - i want to receive emails as html (complete with
pics) but can i turn off this new feature?

Do you have "Read all messages in plain text" selected at Options > Read? If
so, try deselecting it.

It's possible that Windows Live Mail has copied the Windows Mail
procedure of showing all the attachments of types it knows methods
of opening, even if they are also listed as attachments.
