Hello

I have joust installed some new 2003 servers and put them into my windows
2000 domain, but all the servers comes with the following event:

Event Category: None
Event ID: 11166
Date: 06-05-2005

Description:
The system failed to register host (A) resource records (RRs) for network
adapter
with settings:

The reason the system could not register these RRs was because of a
security related problem. The cause of this could be (a) your computer does
not have permissions to register and update the specific DNS domain name set
for this adapter, or (b) there might have been a problem negotiating valid
credentials with the DNS server during the processing of the update request.

You can manually retry DNS registration of the network adapter and its
settings by typing "ipconfig /registerdns" at the command prompt. If problems
still persist, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator. For
specific error code, see the record data displayed below.

The other servers in my domain does not give this events, i have 2003 and
2000 servers.
Can anyone tell me what could be the reason to this problem?

Hi

I found a solution.
It looks like the servers did not register right in the AD, i took them out
of the AD, deleted all information about them on the PrimaryDS.
Then I made the registration again and everything looks like it now works.

Strange what have been wrong :-/
