I have seen a few of the above Event IDs on a machine i am currently looking
at. It is also causing a number of application 'hangs' and terminations.
After looking at a few replies to similar problems i decided to test the
RAM. I found the Windows Memory Diagnostic and decided to give it a go. It
failed all the standard tests:
(Failures)
MATS+ 32
INVC 40
LRAND 1858
Stride6 616
WMATS+ 2686
WINVC 2891
Thinking this didn't seem too correct (the machine does actually run!) i
decided to try Memtest86. I only ran oone pass but all the tests succeeded.
Does anybody know what the reliability of the WMD tool is? I have run it a
few more times and seen some successful tests but it seems very random.
Is anyone aware of any other 'reliable' RAM tests?
Are the problems this machine is having likely to ba as a result of faulty
RAM?
