Event Viewer problem

Hello Al

I am having a problem with event viewer on my primary DC. Everything I go into the event viewer everything looks and works fine until I check the Application Log. When I check the App. log it is blank. On the top bar it displays that there are supposed to be 845 items there, but nothing shows up. I am not filtering any events. Now for the kicker, once I change from the App Log back to a different log, all of them then show up blank with zero items to report. Before I go into the App Log, the others are all OK, afterwards they are all blank

Any ideas on how to fix something like this

Thanks

The temporary fix;
You might try changing the file properties to "Overwrite as needed"

Then; Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General,
set the "Startup Type:" to "Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move)
the corrupt *.evt file(s) from %windir%\system32\config then set the Event
Log Service "Startup Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.

The more permanent fix;
