Event Viewer playing up

In event viewer I can successfully view application and
security logs, but as soon as I switch to system log, i
got nothing. Yet I can click into the window and it
highlights a event, but its almost like invisible. If I
then switch back to app or sec they are also blank, but
when I do a refresh, they become visible. This refresh
does not work with the system log.

I am logged in as admin, and I have not set any filters

The temporary fix;
You might try changing the file properties to "Overwrite as needed"

Else; Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General,
set the "Startup Type:" to "Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move)
the corrupt *.evt file(s) from %windir%\system32\config then set the Event
Log Service "Startup Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.
