I have an entry which appears each time I use my PC, as follows:

VSS category None Event 8193 user n/a

I have followed the particulars through but as a novice remain unsure of
my next step.
I am sure that I have seen a solution to this problem in a newsgroup.
Anyone know what it is, and what level of expertise will be required to
correct it?

Anonymous (Last update 1/28/2005):
I fixed this problem by installing MSXML 3.0 and MSXML 4.0.

Is this the solution?

It's what worked for them. I can't honestly say I've come across this error
personally so the best guess I can offer would be 4.0 with the latest
service pack:

Thank you. I now see that there is a patch due, in the meantime not
considered a major issue.
