Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) error Event ID 32 & 8193

S

SirTurtlehead

I continue to receive the VSS error Event ID 32 and 8193. When this happens,
my computer freezes then goes to blue screen where I see
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL along with other information. There is no pattern when
this happens. It is extremely random.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64bit Service Pack 1. I am also running a 3rd
party backup, Carbonite. Please let me know if more information on my system
will help. I do not recall having this problem prior to service pack 1.

You are going to have to identify the incompatible hardware or an
incompatible device driver. I would suspect the hard drive controller.

Thank you Mark. Is there a quick way to do that? Or is it done by eliminating
one at a time? What hardware or incompatible device driver would work with
VSS?

Could updating my ATI Radeon HD 2400 graphics card cause this? That's the
only driver I can think of recently updating.

The only hardware change I have made to my system is adding 2GB of RAM. This
issue was happening before that. Again, this problem did not occur prior to
Vista SP 1.
