I have a LAN with a router acting as DHCP server. I've recently started
getting event-viewer errors on one workstation with a source of IPNATHLP
and an error description which says:
"The DHCP allocator has detected a DHCP server with IP address
192.168.0.5 on the same network as the interface with IP address
192.168.0.6. The allocator has disabled itself on the interface in order
to avoid confusing DHCP clients."
It would seem (to me) that this workstation is set up to act as DHCP
server itself and is shutting down that service to avoid conflict with
the router. Fine, but it makes event viewer untidy
-).
It started happening recently - don't know why (perhaps since one of the
Windows updates). In any event, is there something I should turn off to
avoid this?
