event viewer always shows zero events

When I start up I get the message that the Application Log is full. I then open the Event Viewer. It says that I have 1999 messages in the System log but none are displayed. When I open any other log it says that there are zero messages, including the System log when I return. This is on Windows 2000 Server. Any suggestions?

Change the event logs (each) to "overwrite as needed" and bump up the log
sizes to something reasonable.

Working now! Thanks

Glad it helped. I've seen this before, too... annoying. It should be set
that way by default. I think in W2003 it is.
