Event veiwer filling up

The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during
its internal processing. HRESULT was 800706BA from line
42 of .\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft
Product Support Services to report this error
 
If your qestion is how can I stop the event viewer from filling up right-click the log that is filling up and choose Properties | check Overwrite events as needed. If your question is how do I stop this COM+ event sorry don't know. You can try http://www.eventid.net

What does that actually do? I still see identical events dating back to the
last time I cleared the log.
 
It stops the log from filling up. When that happens you'll get errors when attempts are made to write to the log.
