Event logging - Q312571

Our system is two-node cluster with Windows 2000 Server SP3.
We have a problem with Security Event Log stopping as described in Q312571.

We don't want to apply a SP4 (this is normally working production servers) and
wish to get this HF. Our local MS support told us, that since SP4 release it isn't possible.

Is it really in such bad way? We need this HF very much.

In my experience by the wording that hotfix IS still available by calling and asking for it. They cost nothing but the time on the phone. Just refer to that article when calling and say, "hotfix.". Did you try the workaround there? Otherwise try this. Set all your event logs to overwrite as needed but clear them first.

Yes, I called them, but no luck.
Sec. log settings are Maximum Log Size 400000 KB and Overwrite Events older than 40 days.
Could anyone send me that .dll from the HF I need?

Well I just obtained. It is 305 KB. You know this should not go in a Production server and if you set the logs to overwrite as needed this should fix the issue. Or of course apply Service Pack 4. Any questions ask at my e-mail.
