When I use fax service from windows 2000 server, sometimes
I receive the following error in the Application Event
Viewer Section:

Event ID : 8218
"Error during the reception of a fax. To attend a minute
and to ask the sender to try again to send the fax. If
the problem persists, to verify the correct operation of
the following elements: telephone, peripheral of shipment
fax and peripheral line of reception fax. If the problem
still persists, to contact the technical support."

How I can resolve the problem?

What is the modem you are using? Also check whether Telephony service is
running by giving following command "net start " and check if "telephony"
service is present.
