Event ID 61 Error 122

We are currently running a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 for use in our
manufacturing environment. We have 7 printers installed on this server that
are used for printing tickets on our packaging line. Each of the 7 printers
are sent a couple of hundred small print jobs per hour. We have recently
begun experiencing several Event ID 61 messages with the following text:

The document xxxxxx owned by SYSTEM failed to print. Win32 error code
returned by the print processor: 122 (0x7a).

This will occur a few times over the course of a few minutes and then the
printers will eventually stop receiving print jobs. This does not appear to
be related to a single printer but will occur on different printers. The
print spooler service does not stop due to these errors. However, the
printers themselves will show a status of deleting job and the job never
deletes. A restart of the print spool service seems to correct the issue.

This server is a dual P4 2.4GHz with 1.5GB RAM running Windows 2000 Advanced
Server with SP4. It also serves as the SQL 2000 Server for the production
floor along with a few other pieces of manufacturing software. I have also
noticed on a few occassions, of this issue, that the Spoolsv process has
approached 3000 open file handles, however, most of the time the file handles
remain below 600.

Does anyone know what might be causing this issue or if it is sometime of
misconfiguration or known issue?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Wayne Jones.
