EVENT ID: 5782
TYPE: Warning
Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or more DNS
records failed with the following error:
No DNS servers configured for local system.

This is a W2K
Service Pack 3

All the webpages I have found regarding this event ID is
related to machines running Service Pack 1. One by on I
have computers on the domain lose their connection to the
rest of the network. I had the DNS issueing the IP's but
now I am having to put the IP's in. This is happening
speratically. One compute today then two tomorrow and so
on.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Hello Jeff,

Make sure that the TCP properties are set to "update with DNS". Also check
the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters<interf
ace guid>:
DisableDynamicUpdate=1

This registry value effectively disabled dynamic DNS registration on the
computer.

Hello,

Check on all computers that are trying to register with a DDNS that may be
having this problem.
